Youth Peer Research Project - Indooroopilly Shopping

lowercase (an initiative of local not-for-profit, Human Ventures) in association with Indooroopilly Shopping Centre will be delivering a Peer Research & Consultation Project.

The project has three primary goals: To engage and train young people in interviewing, filming and research skills; To ask young people what they would like to see in the new developments of the shopping centre; and To find out ways in which Indooroopilly Shopping Centre could best engage young people in positive activities within the centre.We are currently looking for participants for the "Peer Research Working Party" or Project Crew - a group of young people who are trained in filming, interviewing and research techniques and then asked to interview other young people about their opinions.

The Participants will take part in a total of 5 workshops/research sessions. Project dates are - Thursday 23rd and Saturday 25th February, and Thursday 1st, Friday 2nd and Tuesday 6th March. Times are 3.30-6.30pm for weekday sessions, and Saturday 12-3pm.  Participants will be paid a nominal fee of $50 for participation in the project, however we are also happy to provide participants with a certificate of work experience/participation.  We are looking to have these participants confirmed asap as the project begins this week. • Learn how to shape clays in plastic state and make it a durable, timeless piece by firing.
• Explore slip casting as a superior shaping method.
• Make a plaster mold out of your own clay model.
• Learn how to make and apply glazes and colors.

One on one sessions, weekday and weekend classes are available.

Each class 3.5 hours from 9.00am-1.30pm or  1.00pm-4.30pm.
Fee is $30 per class/person including material and firing.
