Garden orb weaver

I'm a garden orb weaver,  and I live in  Moggill gardens.  I spin my web at night and eat it up before morning so that big predators like you don't walk through it and waste all my hard spun silk. .

Garden orb weaver

I spin my web at night in gardens in Moggill. Then I eat it up before morning so that big lazy daytime predators like you won't walk through it. Try taking a torch out at night and please be careful -- it takes a lot of energy for me to make my silk.

Gumtips Nature Refuge

The Gumtips Nature Refuge, at Teatree Rd, Ebenezer, is owned and operated by the Moggill Koala Hospital Association (Inc), a group of volunteers dedicated to the survival of the koala, as well as all forms of wildlife.

The Nature Refuge is a 100-acre tract of prime koala habitat (approx 40Ha) which has been closed off and is returning to its natural state. There is a colony of koalas in the area, and we are currently maintaining this colony as well as trying (in spite of the drought) to grow food trees for koalas. Other forms of wildlife and birds as well as the local flora are all thriving on the refuge. In addition, there is a stand of the significant Melaleuca Urbiana, a paperbark tree which is in danger of extinction.

As is the case everywhere, the availability of water is a an ongoing problem, and to this end we have raised sufficient funds to have a pair of 30 000 litre water tanks installed which are filled from the roof of a shed. Additionally, we are having a couple of dams on the property repaired so that they are capable of holding water when it eventually rains! We have repaired the fences surrounding the property to keep out straying cattle and horses, and are contiuing in our efforts to return this pristine habitat to its former state.

The work we do, which includes tree planting, fire management, maintenance of fences, gates and pathways all takes huge amounts of cash as well as volunteer labour, and we are always looking for new members to become involved.

You can join the Moggill Koala Hospital Association (Inc) by going to our website at http://www.my.comfypage.com/koalas where you can find out more about the Association and the Refuge. You can also make a donation online. You can also find out about becoming a volunteer at the Moggill Koala Hospital, caring for sick and injured koalas on a weekly basis. See you soon!!

cats need home

Going to Finland with work, where small apartments, traveling a lot, and cold seasons won't suit these two inside-and-outside cats who love the warmth.

She is a purebred chocolate pointer Cornish Rex named Baci; affectionate, talkative, and eccentric as fits the breed. They live long lives—as if kittens until the end—and adore high perches or dark hiding places, as well as lots of smooching surfaces and people. He is a black Siamese cross named Nero, rescued from RSPCA, still a tad timid but affectionate, and talkative too.

Loyal like a dog, he follows you around and has the loudest purr when rubbed under the chin. He is fast, muscular and solid as Siamese crosses are.

Both love cuddles and lively romps at some stage each day.

House-trained and come with their own bedding, scratch posts etc.

If you are interested then please call Ann on 0425 249 797.

Need home mid December.
