Bellbowrie Kindy seeking help/donations of items

Hi to everyone!

As you are all aware our centre was completely submerged in the recent flood. The level of damage sustained rendered the building unusable and a large proportion of the kindergarten materials and furniture were unsalvageable. The kindergarten building has been assessed by a structural engineer as structurally sound and the committee has engaged a contractor to rebuild at the current location. Ideally the aim is to have the kindergarten up and running by the start of the second term this year

Unfortunately we have been advised that we will be receiving minimal insurance and consequently we have a massive task ahead of us to get the centre back to being the wonderful centre that it was. It will take time to source and collect the resources that we have lost and at the moment we need to put all our funds into the re-building of the centre. Many emails have been sent out requesting cash donations, goods to be donated or offers to purchase at cost – to no avail.

We have been advised by experienced fundraisers that this is to be expected and the only way you can successfully source donations is by having a contact. As there is a handful of members on our committee at the moment we thought if we opened this up to all our contacts we have we might have a better chance of finding someone who would be willing to donate cash, donate the goods or offer to have us purchase at cost.

We are looking for:

  • 1 refrigerator with no freezer
  • 1 camera
  • vinyl flooring
  • carpet
  • floor mats
  • CD / tape player with speakers
  • 1 cook top
  • 1 under bench oven
  • 1 microwave
  • Compactus brownbuilt shelving
  • Paint
  • 1 computer
  • Multi function printer to replace the Canon one that we purchased 2 years ago
  • Titan shed
  • Bark, sand and builders’ loam for the playground
  • Turf
  • Large water tank to replace the one we lost
  • Kitchen cabinets
  • And even a kitchen sink!

Please get in touch with us if you think you can help. We can forward photos if needs be.

Kind regards,

Robyn Bowman Centre Director

Do you have teenagers? BreakFreeNow Development Workshop

Our teenagers are facing a world more complex than ever before. The pressures on our young people are huge. Pressure on parents, to figure it out, while raising their kids is increasingly difficult.

BreakFreeNow recognises this and provides empowering, life-changing, interactive workshops for teenagers between 13 and 17 years of age. The BreakFreeNow workshops deliver high quality journeys of exploration and discovery which confront the real issues that young people themselves are facing.

The BreakFreeNow workshop is run by the Real Teens Foundation, a not-for-profit, non religious, non political organisation run by a group of dedicated and passionate men and women who volunteer their time to help teenages face the challenges of today's soceity.

cats need home

Going to Finland with work, where small apartments, traveling a lot, and cold seasons won't suit these two inside-and-outside cats who love the warmth.

She is a purebred chocolate pointer Cornish Rex named Baci; affectionate, talkative, and eccentric as fits the breed. They live long lives—as if kittens until the end—and adore high perches or dark hiding places, as well as lots of smooching surfaces and people. He is a black Siamese cross named Nero, rescued from RSPCA, still a tad timid but affectionate, and talkative too.

Loyal like a dog, he follows you around and has the loudest purr when rubbed under the chin. He is fast, muscular and solid as Siamese crosses are.

Both love cuddles and lively romps at some stage each day.

House-trained and come with their own bedding, scratch posts etc.

If you are interested then please call Ann on 0425 249 797.

Need home mid December.
