How far is the bad smell at night reaching?

Some areas in Moggill have been experiencing a 'dead animal' smell in the evening air for the last week or so. Has anyone in Anstead or Bellbowrie also been affected by this smell?

Does anyone know what it is???

We haven't noticed it up in the Lanes area on Witty Rd. Maybe the wind direction has an effect. Whereabouts do you smell this bad pong?

We are down towards Hawkesbury Road. We are fairly close to the river, and I thought it may have been the river at low tide, but the smell seems to come in the evenings between about 9pm and midnight - which doesnt always coincide with the tides. I am at a complete loss to what might be causing it - it is a very strong smell! It's almost like there is a week dead cow in the yard or something!

I figure if everyone adds a little piece of data about whether they can smell it from where they are, then we could make a plot just like Physician John Snow who plotted the outbreak of cholera in London's Soho in 1854 and tracked it down to the water pump! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1854_Broad_Street_cholera_outbreak

Cllr De Wit has suggested that anyone who is concerned about the odour lodge a complaint with her - action in resolving problems like this depends on the number of complaints. The more complaints, the better the chance of further action.
