"Community Impact Survey ResultsBellbowrie Taverns Application For 40 Gambling Machines In December 2010, the Bellbowrie Community Association Inc (BCA) was asked by Jacaranda Advisory to respond to an independent Community Impact Statement (CIS) to assess the likely social impact and economic impacts of the Bellbowrie Tavern's application for 40 gaming machines. Given the proximity the holiday season, the BCA gained an extension to respond in January 2012 after surveying the communitys views on the topic. If anybody has the Department of Transport & Main Road's survey webpage or the appropriate section's phone number that specifically relates to this survey can you please provide it. I'd suggest everybody avoids submitting the survey unless they have come across it via an official channel. Be that hand delivered, post, website or other. It appears as though the Bellbowrie Community Association is misrepresenting the Department by referring us to an attachment within the BCA website. Professional surveys are developed with due diligence and have built into them parameters, constraints, conditions, privacy guidelines among other major concerns. Let's not bastardise an important survey by mistake.

Hi Grant, We live in Moggill and got the mailout and printed survey from Transport and Main Roads about the ferry trial this week. I don't know how far into the Western suburbs the survey has been mailed. The contact information given is Phone: 3137 8282 Email: metrofeedback@tmr.qld.gov.au There is no reference to a website in the mailout so I don't know if there is one. The survey PDFs on the BCA website look to me to be a scan of what we received in the mail. Best wishes, Margot

Grant, As Margot kindly points out, the BCA has scanned and uploaded the original (official) information leaflet and survey in a community notice in an attempt to ensure that the survey gains as large a response as possible from our community. Should you have any concerns about the BCA, I am always available to discuss these with you in person. Yours sincerely John Belchamber BCA President 0406 547 914 admin@bellbowrie.com

Seeking your ideas for improving Nnub

We are considering making improvements to Nnub and would really like your ideas and suggestions. Please would you help us out by answering some or all of the questions below and emailing to Fiona and Margot (nnub@nnub.net):
1. TAGS: Do you use the tags on the Nnub website, or should we remove them to make way for something else?
2. AUTHORS: Would you like to see a list of authors? These could be individuals, groups, businesses, politicians, or however an author chooses to register and identify themselves. Would you like to see them listed or sorted by how popular they are (how many hits) or by how active they are (how many postings they make) or in some other manner?
3. BUSINESSES: Would you like to see an area listing local businesses with links to their notices?
4. ACTIVITY: Would you like the latest comments to be more obvious on Nnub, so that conversation is more prominent, or should comments stay inside the notices as at present?
5. GROUPS: What do you think about an area especially for groups to form? What kinds of online tools would help facilitate growth of great ideas such as baby sitting club, a community garden, home brewing get togethers, and improving youth services? Would any groups like a private noticeboard space (behind a log in)?
6. CALENDAR: Do you think a calendar would be useful and do you have any ideas for how you would like to see calendar events?
7. TOUCHSCREEN NOTICEBOARD: Would you like to see a touchscreen version of the Nnub noticeboard in a local public place. If so, where?
8. OTHER: Do you have any other suggestions, feedback or ideas about Nnub? What do you like and dislike about Nnub?
Please send your replies to nnub@nnub.net. We really appreciate it.
Margot and Fiona
