MSS Thinker's Challenge
The Moggill State School Thinker's Challenge for the week ending August the 29th was:
question: Select plants that could be used as floral emblems in the official bouquets that will be presented to winning competitors. Explain why you chose those plants and how they will promote the spirit of the Olympics in Brisbane.
winning answer: Golden Wattle represents Australia's floral emblem and gold medals; Queensland silver wattle representing Queensland and the silver medal; Bronze bush pea represents bronze medals and is a Queensland native and finally Brisbane wattle because it represents Brisbane hosting the Games. They all have green leaves and golden yellow flowers which are Australian colours. They are all native to Australia.
Thanks to Anne Spencer for providing the weekly Thinker's Challenge.

Use the B.A.R. key to make a Chocolate Chip Cookie BIGGER, ADD something to it, REPLACE something on it.
…and the winning answer is: To make the cookie bigger, add a special ingredient and remove all the sugar. The advertising prepared for the new improved cookie was especially good!

MSS Thinker's Challenge

- at Weight Watchers (not a fat free cookie),
- during class time in class,
- as a sewerage worker at a sewerage farm,
- in space,

- in a horse race,
- under water swimming,
- in the bathroom after you have brushed your teeth,

MSS Thinker's Challenge

The Moggill State School Thinker’s Challenge question for the week ending May the 30th was: How can you relate the picture (attached) to a Chocolate Chip Cookie?
…and the winning answer is: The answer that showed the most creative thinking was a design of a "cookie person" with extra cookies added to the original picture to create a person whose head was made with a choc chip cookie, the body incorporated the bracket type shape, was made from a scotch finger biscuit, and the arms and legs were made from sticky lollies.
Thanks to Anne Spencer for providing the weekly Thinker’s Challenge.
MSS Thinker's Challenge
The Moggill State School Thinker’s Challenge question for the week ending March the 28th was:
This week the Thinker’s Challenge is to design a way to make a ping pong ball even lighter. If we were to throw it from a great height, yours should be the last to touch the ground. I’m sure you can think of some wonderful ideas. If we have enough entries, maybe we could test them out!
…and the winning answer is: There isn't one as yet! There were so many entries that a test to see who has designed the lightest ping pong ball has been arranged. That should be very interesting. Watch this space for an update of the winning design.
Thanks to Anne Spencer for providing the weekly Thinker’s Challenge.
MSS Thinker's Challenge
The Moggill State School Thinker’s Challenge question for the week ending March the 20th was:
This week I want you to BAR an umbrella. So you need to make something bigger, add something and replace something. This Thinker’s Challenge uses the B.A.R. Key. The BAR Key asks us to B - make something bigger; A - add something and R - replace something. I look forward to seeing your interesting designs. Happy Designing!
…and the winning answer is: an umbrella with a food tray, air-con and a peep hole... and wheels!! That 's a fantastic idea, and with all this rain it would be very useful.
Thanks to Anne Spencer for providing the weekly Thinker’s Challenge.
MSS Thinker's Challenge
The Moggill State School Thinker’s Challenge question for the week ending March the 14th was:
These two things would generally have nothing in common. You need to outline 5 things that they could have in common. The items are; Uluru and the Pacific Ocean.
…and the winning answer is: Uluru and the Pacific Ocean both have shrimp living on them. Uluru has shield shrimp living in rock pools and they are both surrounded by sand. Gosh - that is a good answer!
Thanks to Anne Spencer for providing the weekly Thinker’s Challenge.
MSS Thinker's Challenge

- a bullet proof dome should be built over the top for protection
- put soccer nets on soccer goals
- a system of escalators from the bottom oval to the classrooms
- stairs up the bank
